An Indiana student hanged herself from her middle school’s bleachers during school hours because she was being bullied, her family says.
Horrified classmates found Braylee Rice’s body Monday outside McCulloch Junior High School in Marion.

The 14-year-old was driven to suicide after being relentlessly teased and tormented, her sister Moka wrote on a Facebook tribute page.
“She lived a great life until those kids from school told her to go and kill herself,” she posted.

“My sister already had depression and suicidal thoughts, and the school knew that, and they didn’t help her. We tried so hard, our family really did,” Moka added.

Fellow student Haley Simpson agreed, telling WISH-TV : “She was bullied and she didn’t deserve what she got.”
Teachers said they did not know Rice was being targeted by bullies, but parents posting on the memorial page said it was a problem at the school.
WISH-TV reports that Rice left class at 8:45 a.m. and was found hanging at 10:17 a.m.
Jennifer Smith claims her son, who was standing outside the school at the time, spotted Rice on the bleachers.
He heard a loud noise and then saw her body hanging, she added, saying: “He seen it, he seen the whole process.”
A police investigation into Rice’s death is ongoing.
